Old City Hall History
Built in 1918, Old City Hall at 725 Central Avenue Haywarden has long been a community gathering place. Designed by architect William L. Steele, the building originally housed city offices, the fire and police departments, and a large auditorium for public events.
Over the years, the hall has hosted movies, dances, weddings, roller skating, community dinners, and holiday celebrations, making it a central part of local life.
After sitting vacant for several years, the historic building was preserved and restored, including being listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
In 2020, the building was purchased by Jared Voltho, owner of Lifestyle Fitness, which operates in the basement. Renovations to the historic hall began in 2024, transforming the space into a beautiful event venue while preserving its original character.
Today, Old City Hall offers a unique and historic setting for weddings, celebrations, and community events.
